Nancy Carlson

Account Manager

Nancy Carlson joined Goddard Claussen in 2006. Nancy is responsible for managing clients such as the National Congress of American Indians and the American College of Cardiologists. She also coordinates communications plans, public affairs campaigns and advertising schedules for several of Goddard Claussen's DC-based clients.

Nancy's focus is on ballot initiative campaigns. Most recently she helped manage the “Yes On 1” campaign in Maine that successfully rejected a proposed tax increase on beverages in the state. She also served as Deputy Campaign Manager for “No On 3” – a 2006 ballot measure that the firm helped defeat in Missouri.

With a background in press relations, presidential politics and federal government administration, Nancy brings to the firm her experience in managing day-to-day advocacy and client operations.

Before joining the firm, Nancy was employed by the United States Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary. In that position, she wrote policy position papers and corresponded regularly with Indian nations throughout the country. Prior to her work at Interior, she worked in the press office of the Bush-Cheney ‘04 campaign and coordinated media efforts for the Southeast region on behalf of National Press Spokesperson.

Nancy graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Communications with a focus on media production. She will earn her Master's in Communications at Johns Hopkins University in 2009.
